Thomas F. Reynolds, Jr. a/k/a "Tom Reynolds" signed up June 17, 2016 to run for City Commissioner in the City of St. Augustine Beach, Florida.
He is running for the seat currently encumbered by ex-Mayor ANDREA SAMUELS.
Mr. Reynolds is a frequent critic of waste, fraud, abuse, misfeasance, malfeasance, nonfeasance, flummery, dupery and nincompoopery of local governments and public comment speaker.
Ironically, he signed up to run on the day before the 44th anniversary of President RICHARD MILHOUS NIXON's Watergate burglary scandal and the first anniversary of what he terms the "Developer Debt Forgiveness Program," St. Johns County's erasing a $30 million debt owed by developers to pay for infrastructure.
SAMUELS is a cynical serial First Amendment violator and angry frequent caustic interrupter of public comment speakers.
SAMUELS and two fellow commissioners wanted to fire every St. Augustine Beach Police Officer and abolish the St. Augustine Beach Police Department in retaliation for ten officers' protected reports concerning then-Chief Richard Hedges' alleged misconduct. They reversed the vote after they were persuaded their intent to violate the First Amendment would make them lose seventeen jury trials.
