In 1776, OUR FOUNDERS WOULD HAVE TARRED AND FEATHERED TRAITORS FOR FAR LESS THAN CITY MANAGER WM. B. HARRISS HAS DONE

Former Jersey City Mayor Frank "I Am The Law" Hague -- Hague's Excesses Were Minor Compared to Ten Year Reign of Error By St. Augustine City Manager WM. B. HARRISS?

In 1776, the government of St. Augustine, Florida observed the Declaration of Independence -- with fire, not fireworks.
British Tories burned our Declaration of Independence and burned effigies of Revolutionaries John Adams and John Hancock. They gathered in St. Augustine's Slave Market Square, denouncing our American Founding Fathers as blameworthy, deserving execution, evisceration and defenestration.
St. Augustine was the capital of British East Florida from 1763-1783. Floridians supported England's Mad King George III. Florida still lacked newspapers (and people with critical thinking/questioning skills).
Today, antediluvian City Manager William B. Harriss & Co. run St. Augustine's City Hall, with much in common with those who burned our Declaration. They're authoritarian, hierarchical, with marked monarchical tendencies. They hate our Bill of Rights and First Amendment.
They're destroying our beautiful city and county, allowing foreign investor-speculators to destroy wetlands and obliterate history and beauty. They dumped 40,000 cubic yards of solid waste in our Old City Reservoir: activists caught them red-handed and stopped their plans to bring it back to Lincolnville. They're emitting sewage effluent into our marshes through a leaky pipe (yep, we caught ‘em again). Our City admits it will cost at least $1,000,000 to fix but admits it's been going on for years).
In yesterday's Record, former Public Works Director William Leetch blew the whistle on Harriss, which ought to be enough to start a federal grand jury investigation, like the one that indicted the City of Venice, Florida for less serious sewage effluent pollution, measured in days, not years.
Not unlike Mad King George, HARRISS actually thought it cute when he lied.
Harriss lied to the Florida DEP about the severity of the leaks.
Not unlike the late Jersey City Mayor Frank Hague, HARRISS believes he is the law.
Not unlike Mad King George, City Manager HARRISS and our City Hall officialdom discriminate against and hound dissenters, African-Americans, Gays and Lesbians, St. George Street and Plaza de la ConstituciĆ³n artists and entertainers, peace protesters, etc.
They bring shame upon our City throughout America and the world.
They'll soon inhabit the proverbial "dustbins of history" -- next to Mad King George III, our other-directed U.S. Rep. John Mica, State Rep. William Proctor and erstwhile speculator-directed county commissioners Karen Stern and Bruce Maguire.
The Founding Fathers are watching us. Expect democracy. Earn our freedom, liberty, justice and equality.
Happy Independence Day!
