JOHN LUIGI MICA voted against the Omnibus National Park bill, which authorized the St. Augustine 450th Anniversary Commemoration Commission.
JOHN LUIGI MICA's pushing (with his brother, for 22 years the Big Oil lobbyist in Tallahassee) for offshore oil drilling off Florida's coasts, which Senator Bill Nelson rightly says would threaten both national security and our tourism economy.
Meanwhile, Faye Armitage, who ran against MICA in 2008, is championing creation of a St. Augustine National HIstorical Park, Seashore and Scenic Coastal Parkway Act. Faye Armitage has published an 1100 word editorial in Folio Weekly (read by 150,000 people in Northeast Florida). Faye Armitage spoke to St. Augustine City Commission Monday night, advancing a proposed resolution endorsing the National Park (see below).
When it comes to understanding our problems and advocating solutions for our beloved City of St. Augustine and the Seventh COngressoinal District, for protecting our nature and history and creating good jobs in environmental and historic tourism, Faye Armitage has no equal.
