Haley Barbour Gets It -- St. Augustine Needs Civil Rights Museum As Part of St. Augustine National Historical Park, Seashore and & Coastal Parkway

Mississippi is well on its way to erecting a $50 million civil rights museum.

Mississippi now requires K-12 education on civil rights.

Florida needs to do the same, starting with a civil rights museum right here in St. Augustine, FLorida, without whose citizens' courage -- and enactment of the 1964 Civil Rights Act -- we probably would not have rights for African-Americans, Asians, women, people from other countries, or Gays and Lesbians.

The St. Augustine National Historical Park, Seashore and Scenic Coastal Parkway includes a civil rights museum. www.staugustgreen.com

Let's get to work!

A bill has been introduced in the Florida Senate regarding photographing farm land. You could concievably be arrested on a felony charge if you photograph a hawk sitting on a wire over a hayfield. The text describes "entering" a farm but unless it specifically excludes photographing from a public road there will be wildlife photographers and landscape photographers being charged as felons.

If you're not a Florida resident call anyway, tell them you are coming as a tourist.

Please contact Senator Normans office and let him know how you feel about this.
