County Attorney DAVID MICHAEL MIGUT RESIGNING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2024

St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners' County Attorney DAVID MICHAEL MIGUT is resigning at the Tuesday, February 6, 2024 St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners meeting.  Consent Agenda Item 29

Update, February 5, 2024:  Still waiting on responsive documents to records requests.

Update, February 1, 2024: MIGUT is reportedly accepting a position as Jacksonville Beach City Attorney.

A statewide search is needed.  Public participation is urgently required to address the deficiencies in our County Attorney office.  Being a doormat for developers or government contractors is wrong.

No more SJC staff, consultant, Commissioner or developer flummery, dupery and nincompoopery are desired or required in making hiring decisions.  Commissioners need real legal advice.

When our friend, Mr. MIGUT, was unanimously hired by BoCC in 2021, there were two finalists.

The other finalist, William Thomas McFarlane,  was rejected unanimously because our provincial one-party Commissioners believed there were "cultural differences" and that Mr. McFarlane lacked "St. Johns County experience." Like Ripley's Believe it or Not!  Yes, my friends, those were the exact words of incurious insolent insipid Commissioner JEREMIAH RAY BLOCKER (defeated by Krista Keating Joseph by 175 votes in closed Republican 2022 Primary on overdevelopment issues).

Some of our Commissioners, including Isaac Henry Dean, now apparently believe Commissioners erred in their hiring decision.  According to Consent Agenda Item 29, Mr. MIGUT's resignation was voluntary and mutually agreed upon.

Footnote: The other finalist for St. Johns County Attorney in 2021 was Wm. Thomas McFarlane, former Roane County, Tennessee County Attorney, elected four (4) times as County Attorney (he is also licensed in Florida).  In 2022, voters in four (4) Tennessee counties elected Wm. Thomas McFarland as their 9th Judicial Circuit Court Chancellor in 2022; his judgeship term ends in 2030. His judicial district embraces Loudon, Meigs, Morgan and Roane Counties.

More later.

DAVID MICHAEL MIGUT
His office was most noted for its sloth and torpor.

One could have a masters degree and not be hired because of not enough experience. On the flip side, one could have a lot of experience and be turned down for not being educated enough. The stupidity in this country has gotten so out of hand that people are lucky to survive. That's another reason why UBI is needed. The stupid games, the take it or leave it low wages, the political gridlock, the excuses and endless arguments. Real shit show. Not too soon people will just try to make as much money as possible and leave USA.

Your theatrical performances at these meetings have made them almost unwatchable. Sit down. Be quiet. You aren't helping. Let us watch the meeting without all your bluster and nincompoopery.

Who is "us?" For whom do you speak? Identify yourself.

"us" are the working people of this county who can't come and speak at these meetings because they are held while we are out busting our butts for a living. that leaves a bunch of angry, old, retired people to shout that they know what is best for all of us. Same people, every meeting, getting up and spouting off about what they think is right with no regard for us working stiffs in the county.
