Public Servants vs. Public Serpents

The late U.S. Senator William Proxmire was repeatedly elected and re-elected without taking big money campaign contributions. He was a strong advocate for eliminating waste, fraud and abuse in government. He handed out Golden Fleece Awards to alleged wastrels. He was beloved by the people of Wisconsin. He spoke his mind. At the end of his Senate campaigns, spending little, he would refund contributions that were not needed. Character counts. When you see a politician with hundreds of thousands of dollars to run in St. Johns County, all from corporate interests, ask why. When you see tv ads insulting your intelligence and misleading us, ask why. It is up to us: in 2024, will we elect public servants, or public serpents?

Only one current County Commissioner refuses developer campaign contributions (Krista Keating Joseph, in blue dress, second from right). The others are mostly other-directed and corporate funded.

A rich man can buy anything in the USA today. It's gotten so bad that the rich don't even have to buy county commissioners, cops, politicians, legislators, you name it they hand the capitalists everything for free. If you don't have at least $10 million in the bank, they won't listen to you. They pretend..

the one in the blue dress is being directed by a duplicitous member of the community, masquerading as a Republican but using the Democrats when it suits her needs. Do we really want HER running the County? Adding her endorsed Moms for Liberty candidates to the board will result in pure madness.

To be fair, she's only one member and it's just county government. The majority of the damage has already been done through those big "neighborhoods" in the N
north of the county. Looks like to me the board is really just a theater performance really.

Joseph still better than political tourist and Trump fascist Billy the Bamboozler McSewer. County should be grateful if it can just keep ultra MAGA fascists and Tea Party terrorists out of government buildings and mitigate the impacts of their abominable grifting and spreading fascist propaganda.

Proof and evidence that she's being directed by a "member of the community?" And isn't that what she's supposed to do? She's not supposed to be in there doing just what she wants but rather she's supposed to be a representative for the community. Is she not voting in line with what the community wants? How is she "using the Democrats?" For what? And what are these people supposed to do get into office and ignore half the population or not work with certain people? Is that really functional democracy?
