John Morgan: Harris endorsement was all about keeping the House
"What people have forgotten is how she was received when she ran for president," Morgan told Chris Cuomo on NewsNation, "and she was received very poorly. Now this gushing of money is understandable, and by the way, let me tell you what this is really about. This is not about the White House.
"This is about the House," he said, suggesting that Nancy Pelosi organized the change. "Trump's gonna win, the Senate's gonna be lost, the only check is gonna be the House."
While Morgan told ABC News he informed the Biden National Finance Committee that he was no longer fundraising for them, he admitted to Cuomo he'd still contribute to Democratic races elsewhere if asked.
"Any time Nancy Pelosi asked me for money, I give it," he said. "She took my children to meet the Dalai Lama at his house in India. Whatever she wants, I will do anything she wants. I will do.
"I wish she was president. She's the best. And she's the smartest and she's the one that really quietly orchestrated this," he said.
John Morgan calls for third party
On Tuesday morning, Morgan seemed to despair of both political parties.
"One thing is certain in all this," he posted on X, "we need a third party. Too many of us are stuck with nowhere to go except home. And there are more of us than them. But that D or R are powerful forces to overcome.
"God help this great country," he said.
Who is John Morgan?
John Bryan Morgan, 68, is widely known as the founder of Morgan & Morgan, which claims to be the largest personal injury firm in the country. Morgan has been seen photoshopped into racecars, bodybuilder beach bodies and superhero outfits, all while advertising the firm's work "For the People."
Morgan, a huge and longtime political donor, has worked as an advisor to political leaders and presidents and counts Barack Obama and Bill Clinton among his friends. For a time former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist worked for him.
Outside of the courtroom, Morgan is most known for his relentless support of medical and recreational marijuana. He was instrumental in getting medical marijuana on the ballot in Florida, sinking millions of his own money into the fight and finally seeing it passed in 2016. Morgan has thrown his endorsement behind this year's recreational marijuana amendment.
