More Than 2008 Site-Metered Visitors Recorded to "Clean Up City of St. Augustine, Florida" This Week

That's more than just a "personal blog," as the City Clerk derisively called it yesterday (saying only "the media" were notified of the illegal June 22, 2009 SHade meeting, despite the City having hundreds of people on its E-mail lists).

The whole world is watching. Visits to this site come from dozens of countries.

Readers know that City Commissioners of our City of St. Augustine voted 4-1 last week to eviscerate historic Fish Island.

Will the "Gang of Four" finally get their comeuppance, both in court and in the courts of law and in the court of public opinion?

Who will stand up to Mayor JOSEPH LEROY BOLES, JR., Vice Mayor ERROL JONES, Commissioner DONALD CRICHLOW and Commissioner NANCY SIKES-KLINE?

As many as three of the "Gang of Four" can be defeated next year -- Mayor JOSEPH LEROY BOLES, JR., Commissioner DONALD CRICHLOW and Commissioner NANCY SIKES-KLINE.

With the 450th, 500th and 50th anniversaries coming up 2013-2015 -- of our State, St. Augustine civil rights movement and City of St. Augustine, respectively -- the world is our oyster and we need to accomplish something big, for future generations.

That would be more than cupcakes. That would be more than a "heritage area" or two.

We must promote historic and environmental tourism.

We need a St. Augustine National Historical Park, Seashore and Scenic Coastal Parkway to preserve our history and environment forever. See www.staugustgreen.com

Watch Ken Burns' PBS documentary, "Our National Parks -- America's Best Idea," starting September 27th. Let's work tirelessly for our St. Augustine National Historical Park, Seashore and Scenic Coastal Parkway.

It is up to us.
