Marco Rubio: Too Extreme For Florida
RUBIO CALLED SOCIAL SECURITY "GENERATIONAL THEFT"
Rubio Signed Extreme, Right-Wing Pledge To "End Generational Theft" By Privatizing Social Security
MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. -- Continuing to show Rubio is just too extreme for Florida, the Kendrick Meek campaign released a new slide to its "Too Extreme for Florida" website that highlights a pledge Rubio signed to privatize Social Security. Rubio's pledge called Social Security "generational theft."
The "Ten for 10" pledge was created by extreme right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham for candidates running in 2010. Marco Rubio was among the Tea Party candidates in 2009 who signed the pledge.

Rubio called Social Security "generational theft."
Rubio signed Laura Ingraham's "Ten for '10" pledge that called Social Security "generational theft." On Sept. 15, 2009, conservative radio host Laura Ingraham announced that Rubio was among those who signed her "Ten for '10" pledge that included support for privatization of Social Security. The relevant part of Ingraham's petition reads:
8) End Generational Theft. As few believe America's entitlement programs will be able to pay bene?ts to future generations, provide younger workers the choice of diverting payroll/Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts. [Laura Ingraham, "Ten for '10," 9/15/2009]
Rubio: Privatize Social Security. Rachel Maddow recently played footage of Rubio advocating for the privatization of Social Security. In answering a question about how seniors could lose their safety net by investing it in the stock market, Rubio acknowledged, "Essentially, but it's their money." [The Rachel Maddow Show, 10/1/2010]
