Act to Reduce the Truck-Bomb Threat
To the Editor:
I am a truck driver who has logged more than two million safe driving miles over the last 21 years.
The trucking industry often forces ill and fatigued drivers to drive; this danger to public safety also increases the risk of hijacking (''Possibility of Using Trucks for Terror Remains Concern,'' front page, Oct. 20).
The Labor Department and the Transportation Department are guilty of nonenforcement of the truck safety laws. This nonenforcement plays into the potential terrorist's hands.
