The maladroit maladministration of the City of St. Augustine stinks. Not only did two city staff members turn their backs on citizens speaking at the April 25, 2019 meeting of the PZB on our Comprehensive Plan, but they did nothing in response to the suggestion to create a Creation of City of St. Augustine Environmental Conservation, Sustainability and Resiliency Officer (CSRO), an excellent suggestion by retired University of Professor Jonathan D. Hodgin, M.D.
Our City of St. Augustine staff works for developers and has delusions of adequacy, often with "pom poms flying," in the worlds of PZB Vice Chair Karen Zander.

Subject: Like Talking to a Post: City Doing NOTHING re: Dr. Hodgin's Suggestion re: Creation of City of St. Augustine Environmental Conservation, Sustainability and Resiliency Officer (CSRO)? RE: Request No. 2019-190:
Dear Chairman Misterly, Vice Chair Zander, PZB members and City staff:
1. Let me get this straight. None of you took any notes or any actions in response to Dr. Jonathan Hodgin's excellent suggestion at the April 25, 2019 PZB meeting?
2. Why?
3. When City staff literally turned their backs to PZB public speakers at the podium for three hours on April 25, 2019, and City staff fails to follow up on any of their Comp. Plan suggestions, you are proving the former President Jimmy Carter is right -- we have an oligarchy, not a democracy.
4. If you're not going to do your jobs without fear or favor, will you please consider another line of work?
5. It appears that you may be suffering from delusions of adequacy.
6. Please place the CSRO on the agenda for future meetings.
7. To City staff: Don't turn your back on public speakers again. As Bill Clinton said in his Second Inaugural, "Nothing great was ever accomplished by being small."
Thank you.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Ed Slavin
