This morning's St. Johns County Commission began with Chairman JEREMIAH RAY BLOCKER calling upon State Representative CYNTHIA WARD STEVENSON to present a proclamation extolling the 200th anniversary of St. Johns County, Rep. STEVENSON is a second generation politician, scion of a Volusia County Commissioner -- she's encumbered a government gig in St. Johns County since 2004.

When I arrived at the home, STEVENSON was on then porch, defending her execrable record as a doormat for developers.
Then a County Commissioner, elected with support of The Issues Group developer organization, STEVENSON was engaged in conversation with my friend, David Thundershield Queen, quizzing her about robotic approvals of development projects and rezoning. She told him, "We don't always approve rezonings." Hearing her tergiversation as I walked into the room, I replied, "only 149 out of 153 in the last two years," according to Folio Weekly.
On November 1, 2011, Stevenson voted against supporting a St. Augustine National Historical Park and National Seashore, stating we could not have one because "we're not a wilderness."
Elected to the State House of Representatives in 2015, this C.P.A. has led an undistinguished career.
