SJC COMMISSION CHAIR KRISTA JOSEPH VOTE OF "NO CONFIDENCE" re: County Administrator JOY ANDREWS (5:31:50)

Watch video of  DISCUSSION AND VOTE OF "NO CONFIDENCE". St. Johns County Commission Chair Krista Keating Joseph read aloud a detailed case for a vote of "no confidence" in County Administrator Andrews, beginning by describing Andrews' ill-timed vacation in China during the rollout of a badly botched garbage contract, Andrews' stalling adoption of a tree protection ordinance, and Andrews' rampant pro-developer mismanagement, mistreatment of employees, wrongful firings, flummery, dupery and nincompoopery.  Thank you, Commission Chair Krista Jacobs and Commissioner Ann Taylor.  The vote was 3-2 against, but the die is cast: is it time for County Administrator Joy Q. Andrews to retire?  You tell me.

Commissioners Krista Joseph and Ann Taylor are right. Your emotional histrionics make me question your intelligence and integrity. Do you support cynical crasss clear-cutting hired knife throwers, who disdain democracy and practice secrecy? God forgive your for abhorrent Anonymice anger at the peoples' elected officials legal right to ask questions, demand answers and expect democracy.

As county administrator, Andrews has tried to cover up the malfeasance that I saw within the County when I worked there and avoid accountability. I was told that I "worked for the County, not the public," and needed to follow managers orders to mislead boards, disregard public records requests, and discriminate against our citizens. Staff can be so restrained by politics and fear of retaliation, it is amazing that things actually get done at the county. In the end, I was forced out because I followed the law and standard procedure when evaluating our local historic resources for preservation. I was warned by management that discussing Civil Rights history and sites could offend the KKK and upset the County's business interests. I was instructed to close my office to the black community to protect myself politically from Administration but was forced to resign later that week for "public interactions" with the black community. I had invited them to a meeting to discuss the MLK/ Canright House with the CRRB. The historic preservation office was dissolved afterwards to prevent the public from having an efficient office to protect our local history because god forbid developers or the Klan get upset that citizens want to protect and recognize our history. Even though both Andrews and Arnold have postured themselves as supporters of preserving our local Civil Rights history, especially with the lobbying for the black history museum (which I support it being in SJC), they both have refused to meet with me to address my concerns. Some may recall that I was the first person to publicly address retaliation from Conrad for doing the job I was hired to do and Arnold rebuffed me. Then two months later she led the charge to remove him from his position and stated how any employee could meet with her if they felt they are being retaliated against. Not surprisingly, still she refused to meet with me. Andrews was within the chain of command and oversaw my department, and I believe that her attempts to cover up what happened is because she is culpable. In all fairness, Conrad told me in an email that he had nothing to do with the retaliaition against me. But, he also had a history of forcing subordinates to do his dirty work so there would be no fingerprints. I do believe that Andrews' covering up the County's misdeeds, discriminatory practices, making the tree ordinance fail, and ensuring the historic preservation office is not brough back, all demonstrate that she is not willing to work in in the best interests of the citizens who want to see more conservation initiatives.

Upset the KKK? Who the hell is in the KKK here and how would any of this upset the business community? Maybe the political community but that's democracy. You gotta deal with things you don't like and compromise unless it's obviously immoral. By the way, the county is the citizenry... not a bunch of authoritarians sitting in a basement plotting their next imposition upon the population. That's deranged nonsense.

That's Republicans. Talk shit about China and then send envoys to China. Rick Scott secretly investing in Chinese sewage garlic? Who knows. They operate in the shadows which is just fine with Republican voters apparently... since they continue to vote for the confidence men and women.

The way things are so spread out in this county, the worse a small business is going to do compared to what it would have if they'd actually focused on building a city here.
