ST. AUGUSTINE, FL -- A boil water advisory is in effect for everyone in the city of St. Augustine.
A city spokesperson says if you get a water bill from the City of St. Augustine, you should boil your water before you drink or consume it.
Some people get city water even though they live outside the city limits.
Public Works Director Martha Campbell says construction near King Street and Malaga Street in downtown broke a water main around lunch time Wednesday. Campbell says the water may be fine to drink, but the city wants everyone to be careful.
Campbell said some customers will notice a decrease in water pressure. She said only a handful of customers downtown have no water at all.
Campbell urges all city water customers to boil water for two days.

In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
