Clean Up City of St. Augustine, Florida

In secret, behind locked gates, the managers of the Nation's oldest (European-founded) City illegally dumped 40,000 cubic yards of contaminants in the Old City Reservoir, where people fished and swam for generations. St. Augustine's pollution symbolizes our City's putative leaders' lack of trust in the public's right to know. This is advanced citizenship. Please share your questions and whistleblower disclosures about City government. Then let's demand answers. Expect democracy.

CITY OF ST. AUGUSTINE ASKS FOR FEDERAL STIMULUS FOR ONLY ONE PROJECT -- SEAWALL -- NEGLECTING LINCOLNVILLE, RIBERIA STREET AND OTHER NEEDS

Environmental racism? What do you reckon? Machine-picked, barely re-elected Commissioner ERROL JONES (a/k/a "ERRONEOUS JONES) and City Manager for LIfe WILLIAM B. HARRISS (a/k/a/ Republican Lord of All He Surveys) asked U.S. Rep. JOHN LUIGI MICA for only one thing -- $5 million for our seawall, which is in danger of collapse.

No imagination.

No drive.

No concern for average City residents.

Nothing for Riberia Street, one of the most flooded, wobbly streets outside the Third World.

Nothing for playgrounds for Lincolnville.

Nothing for any working class neighborhoods.

At least the seawall will protect the Whetstones and other rich white guys from enduring another catastrophic flood like New Orleans!

Having squandered $25 million on the dumb 'ole White Elephant Parking Garage, Massa HARRISS is tapping the federal keg for funds to fix the seawall. What gooberishness.
