Lincoln famously said, "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." Tonight's display of bad manners by our all-Republicsn County Commission was unworthy of the party of Lincoln -- shushing people for applauding speakers opposed to a tax increase. Tonight's display of fawning obeisance by our Democratic state committeeman was unworthy of the party of Jefferson and FDR. There is no need for a tax increase. I have to agree with our more conservative friends here in St. Johns County: waste must be halted. I've listed proposed cuts below.
