President Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter was one of our greatest Presidents. He said, "Our energy problems have the same cause as our environmental problems -- wasteful use of resources. Conservation helps us solve both problems at once." He was a man of peace and brotherhood, who helped America recover from the White House horrors of the Nixon-Ford years. I was proud to help Senator Jim Sasser support President Carter's energy proposals, with constructive amendments, in 1977, and prouder still years later to write a biography of President Carter for younger readers, for Chelsea House Publishers World Leaders Series (forward by Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.​). We pray for his recovery.
