In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Demolition of Santa Maria Restaurant Postponed: Now on HARB Agenda for November 19, 2015 (Updated)
Come speak out on the proposed demolition-destruction of yet another 100 year old building, the iconic Santa Maria Restaurant, and its proposed replacement on our Bayfront with a 2.5 story building. Enough demolition derbies in Our Nation's Oldest City. Enough too-tall structures. The hearing has been reset to 2 PM on November 19, 2015. Here's hoping that the O.C. White family business reconsiders!
Demolition permit hearing has been reset for November 19, 2015 at 2 PM.
Wonder why? Once again, a HARB member has been hired by a demolition applicant, resulting in a lack of a quorum until November. Pitiful.
Meanwhile, no one has apologized for the failure to present Melinda Rakoncay's application to Commissioners and the errant staff's unilateral rejection of her application, an ultra vires and illegal act of aggression by City Manager JOHN PATRICK REGAN and former City Clerk Alyson Ratkovic, his former Secretary. Hoping the White family reconsiders the demolition permit application. http://cleanupcityofstaugustine.blogspot.com/2015/10/demolition-of-santa-maria-restaurant-on.html
Update: conflicted HARB member JOSEPH CRONK: please resign. http://cleanupcityofstaugustine.blogspot.com/2015/10/harbs-joseph-cronk-please-resign.html
