Cartel "no longer a hospital"

FLAGLER HOSPITAL, INC. CEO JOSEPH GORDY  (the man who told St. Augustine Commissioners in 2013 that Sunshine compliance would be "stultifying" for visioning)

“We’re no longer a hospital; we’re a health system. We’re now, as a group, responsible for all the patients, all the time, no matter what the setting or whose care they are in.”

— Flagler Hospital CEO Joe Gordy, speaking about a new regional alliance between Flagler, Baptist Health and Southeast Georgia Health system. The alliance is called Coastal Community Health. The alliance is expected to produce efficiencies of scale to better serve patients at lower prices, Gordy said.

"It's a cartel!"  -- Line spoken by  Judy Holliday ("Billie Dawn") in the play and movie "Born Yesterday" by Garson Kanin   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI8jeq6VOiI

I have reported this nascent cartel to the Antitrust Division of the Justice Department.

Of course,  The St. Augustine Record, whose successive publishers (but thankfully not the current one) long served on the Board of Directors of Flagler Hospital, did not quote a single antitrust law or economics professor, or do more than print a press release masquerading as a news story.
