Drawing on more than 20 years of legal and public service experience, J. Alex Villalobos counsels clients on a broad array of legal issues to include local governmental operations and regulatory matters. Committed to public service, Alex served for eight years in the Florida House of Representatives and then won election to the Florida Senate in 2000 and reelection in 2002 and 2006. During his legislative career, he has held various leadership positions including Senate Majority Leader, Senate Majority Whip, Chairman of the Miami-Dade legislative delegation, and Chairman of committees on judiciary, criminal justice, education, and criminal justice appropriations. Currently, he serves as the Rules Chair to the Florida Senate.
