Sea level rise could destroy Tampa Bay if a major hurricane hits. (WaPo)

Read The Washington Post article here.  Our beloved reform St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Shaver is a statewide leader on ocean level rise.  Tampa-St. Petersburg area officials are working together on resiliency.  St. Johns County officials need to do so, too.

The City of St. Augustine Beach has done nothing, St. Johns County relatively little, and St. Augustine has led the way in initiating discussions.

I propose a joint meeting of the two City Commissions and County Commission. Without delay.  With meaningful public participation.  With open discussion of the advantages for St. Johns and Flagler Counties of finally creating a St. Augustine National Historical Park and National Seashore, starting with an NPS study amendment in Congress.   See www.staugustgreen.com/draftlegislation
