Hoping and Praying for Pope Francis Visit (My Posting on the Jesuits' "America" magazine website) this morning -- promoting healing in St. Augustine, Florida

We hope and pray that Pope Francis will travel to St. Augustine, Florida after Philadelphia to honor the 450th anniversary of the first Roman Catholic Mass in what is now the USA. This will promote healing in a place that still bears scars of slavery and segregation. Pope Francis can celebrate Mass here and then speak out against racism, genocide and environmental destruction. We hope Pope Francis will visit St. Francis House (homeless shelter) and raise environmental consciousness and empower activists to work against corruption, including the coverup of the shooting of a Sheriff deputy's girlfriend, Michelle O'Connell, investigated by The New York Times, PBS Frontline, NBC News Dateline and Dr. Phil McGraw.
