LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS TO STOP VOTING REGISTRATION DRIVES

Dear League Supporter,

This week, our Board of Directors made a unanimous decision: if the recently passed elections bill (HB 1355) is implemented, the League will no longer conduct voter registration drives in the state of Florida. Due to the vague and overly broad requirements that the bill imposes on third-party voter registration groups, we do not feel comfortable proceeding with our normal activities at this time.

While we are exploring legal options should the bill become law, we hope that you will contact Governor Rick Scott today and urge him to veto this terrible piece of legislation.

Florida has made significant progress in our elections, thanks to your voices! We cannot - and will not - allow our state to go back in time.

In League,

Deirdre Macnab

President, LWVF
