Short-term rental story biased. (St. Augustine Record letter)

Good letter by M.E. Rader, below.

Not only was VICTOR RAYMOS' article "biased, "it was apparently pay-to-play, and plagiarized.

On April 24, 2019, I exposed VICTOR RAYMOS as a shameless plagiarist, putting his name on others' work, every single Saturday in the dull Republican Record's Real Estate section.

This unethical unsuccessful political candidate may stop plagiarizing, but he will never stop perseverating.

What a lugubrious goober.

Some Realtors have to belong to two associations, because the St. Johns County Board of Realtors does not provide what neighboring groups provide.

And "training" is a joke, with new recruits subjected to RAYMOS' unsuccessful campaign for Airport Authority Board.

It's time for VICTOR RAYMOS to find another employer.

Why should Realtors' dues pay for this certified fool's mediocrity and mendacity?

Realtors should unite and fight for their rights, perhaps including a complete investigation and outside forensic audit of the St. Johns County Board of Realtors.

Short-term rental story biased

EDITOR: The article “Florida Realtors watches state legislative action” in your paper of April 20 was very misleading on the issue of proposed legislation to preempt local or homeowner association control over vacation rentals.

The article was authored by [Victor Raymos,] the CEO of the St Augustine & St Johns County Board of Realtors, and provided a totally biased and partisan point of view on vacation rentals. It clearly favored the economic interests of rental realtors and landlords and made no mention of the opposing arguments — in specific, the rights of homeowners to the quiet enjoyment of their property, the rights of neighborhood associations to adopt restrictive covenants and the rights of local government to determine the appropriate rental policies for their community.

Regardless of the power of the rental realtor lobby, the voters in our community and our state deserve to hear both sides of an issue and not merely a one-sided commentary.
