Other-directed St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners would not adopt a lobbyist registration ordinance. When Commissioner James Johns tried to adopt one, former RPM International EVP JAY MORRIS, then a County Commissioner from Ponte Vedra, cried crocodile tears saying it would be "burdensome." (A $25 annual registration fee.)
Ex-Commisioner PRISCILLA RACHEL BENNETT, former lobbyist for Senator-developer TRAVIS JAMES HUTSON, led the charge of the lobbyists who lobbied against lobbying registration,
Lobbyists are trying to install the Florida Speaker of the House-designate's law firm as the St. Johns County Attorney.

Who is implying that lobbying is illegal, unethical, or somehow unnatural if one person does it instead of another? Who is against diverting money thus more wealth and prosperity to St Johns County? I'll tell you who... people who simply oppose things just to oppose things or those who seek validity and credibility for themselves only any way they can possibly get it.
Two more weak and flabby strawman questions from perseverating "Pete." Job description for County Attorney is not for a lobbyist, but for a County Attorney. "Pete" seems to lack common sense or an ethical compass. Who is "Pete" and why does he post such pomposity? Not a BFOQ to hire the law firm of the Florida House Speaker-designate, who chairs the Florida House Committee on Rules and Ethics. SAMUEL PAUL GARRISON et al. should be investigated by the FBI and FDLE. It's our money. Three Commissioners voted for "influence," and said so. Shame on them. Pray for them,
Thomas Jefferson said, "a public office is a public trust."
He can speak to whoever he wants regarding things that could benefit St Johns County. Him being a lawyer is irrelevant. The DMV is calling for those keys I'm telling you.
Like you, Thomas Jefferson is not here right now. You've lost it. Bringing dead people into the conversation instead of proof, evidence, logic, and reason isn't getting you anywhere.
