REPUBLICAN DIRTY TRICKS -- ISLAND DOCTORS PAYS FOR AD WITH CORPORATE FUNDS IN TODAY'S ST. AUGUSTINE RECORD

The ad is from the putative "Christian Coalition," an unChristian, anti-progressive group that rears its ugly head every two years, with twisted surveys on issues. In this case, the ad is intended to hurt the electoral chances of Barack Obama (favoring John McCain) and to hurt Doug Courtney (and benefit WILLIAM L. PROCTOR), both right-wing Republicans.

Isn't it a violation of federal law to spend corporate funds as a campaign contribution? Perhaps "Island Doctors" didn't get legal advice. Anyone ever heard of McCain-Feingold?

The ad does not say it's paid for with a Political Action Committee's funds (which would be legal).
