Ms. Taylor has over twenty-five years of experience in Urban Planning and Architecture and is the Sole Proprietor of Karen M. Taylor Land Planner, which she founded in 1988. She has served as project manager for planning efforts ranging from residential and commercial land developments to county comprehensive planning. She has been involved with preparation and implementation of community development regulations, neighborhood and community revitalization planning, governmental agency and studies coordination, recreation planning, environmental resource management, and land use design and development for both small scale and large scale totally inclusive developments. Karen is experienced in technical report writing, research and analysis, grant writing, feasibility studies, design and drafting, permitting, comprehensive plan amendments and rezoning including conventional zoning as well as Planned Unit Developments and Developments of Regional Impact. She also has experience in Eminent Domain cases within the State of Florida.
Ms. Taylor also has governmental experience serving as a St. Johns County Commissioner (District At-Large-A) from January of 1997 through November of 1998, after being appointed by Governor Lawton Chiles.
In addition, Ms. Taylor is also involved in the community. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors for Prosperity Bank and as a Board Member of the Board of Trustees for Flagler Hospital, Incorporated. She also serves as Chairman of the Betty Griffin House Board, as an advisory board member for the Limelight Theater, and participates in numerous other philanthropic organizations.

She must be one of the Queen of Development, Rachel "The Muse" Bennett best buds. Rachel never has seen a development she didn't like or was going to get a 'deferred compensation from ! There is no doubt that St Johns County will be the Bubble Bursting Point of the next residential BUST ! WHY you ask ? BECAUSE THERE ARE NO JOBS HERE THAT PAY A FAIR WAGE !
