Legislators, public officials to meet today

The St. Johns County Legislative Delegation will hold a public hearing today from 4 to 6 p.m. in the County Auditorium.

The panel of legislators will consist of state senators Tony Hill, Jim King and Steve Wise, plus state representatives Bill Proctor, Ronald "Doc" Renuart and Mike Weinstein.

Local government presentations are planned by Cyndi Stevenson, chairwoman of the St. Johns County Commission; Tax Collector Dennis Hollingsworth; Mayor Joseph Boles of St. Augustine; and Beverly Slough, St. Johns County School Board member, and Joseph Joyner, superintendent of schools.

Public testimony, limited to three minutes each, will be presented by Joe Pickens, president of St. Johns River Community College; Jenna Labadie, Multiple Sclerosis Society; Ed Taylor, Sav Rodman Reservoir; Don Wallace, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce; Keyna Cory, Save Our Waterfronts; Debra Naughton, American Cancer Society; Marion Hoffmann, associate vice president of government relations, University of Florida; James C. Tucker, council chair St. Johns County Department of Juvenile Justice; Bonnie Lloyd, volunteer American Heart Association; David Hamilton, St. Johns County Education Foundation; Phil McDaniel, St. Johns Cultural Council; Ed Slavin, St. Augustine Historical Park, National Seashore and National Scenic Coastal Highway Act; Faye Armitage, citizen of St. Johns County; Jackie Van Horn, Flagler Estates Road & Water Control District; and John W. Horan, citizen of St. Augustine.
