Thank you, Mayor!
Letter: Thank you for your support and confidence
I am honored and humbled that you have given me the opportunity to continue to serve as your Mayor.
Elections are always a victory for democracy. This election was also a victory for decency in our hometown and I am grateful for that. Thank you.
We will move forward together and you can depend on me to continue listening to you at coffees, in the grocery store, and on walks in your neighborhood.
Together we will make this city shine as we continue our recovery from Hurricane Matthew with renewed attention to our streets, water lines, and storm water management.
We will continue to find the right balance between those who visit us and those of us who live, work, and have businesses here.
In all that we do, I will continue to stand with you to find the best solutions to make St Augustine more livable; whether reducing congestion, protecting our green space, or exploring new ways to celebrate the heritage of our historic coast.
Everything that we will do together will be open and transparent and will include your ideas and recommendations. I encourage you to participate in our public meetings, volunteer on our citizen boards, and of course, continue to contact me with your thoughts, suggestions or concerns.
With those goals in mind I am excited about our next two years together. Thank you for the confidence you have placed in me. With your support, I look forward to working with my fellow commissioners and a dedicated city staff to deliver the government you deserve.
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
