The St. Augustine Record printed what it describes as a "CONTRIBUTED" press release on veterans group honoring Sheriff DAVID SHOAR, f/k/a "HOAR," based in part on his "contributions" to veterans.
Sheriff DAVID SHOAR was a National Guardsman, a title that helped him get St. Augustine Police promotions and support to run for Sheriff as a "veteran," which I've requested from the St. Johns County Veterans Council. No response.
SHOAR's "service" as police chief and Sheriff is debatable and despicable. Needing a PR boost, SHOAR f/k/a "HOAR" just got an "award" for his Wall of Honor.
So naturally, the obliging publishers of The St. Augustine Record ran a press release about a dubious honor of a controversial Sheriff whose misfeasance, malfeasance, nonfeasance, flummery, dupery and nincompoopery is irrefragable: Exhibit A, the Michelle O'Connell case?
One wonders what process the St. Johns County Veterans Council followed before this honor?
My father was a decorated combat veteran: the South Jersey Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Divn. Assn., Inc. is named the "Edward A. Slavin Chapter." He parachuted into North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, France as a machine gunner with 505th P.I.R., F. Co. My dad studied and rejected "junk science," like the Warren Commission's "single bullet theory" on the JFK murder in Dallas. Dad asked the eight top then-current non-commissioned officers in the 82nd Airborne at an annual reunion after the Warren Report, "could you make that shot?" All said no. Hell no! No way!
Rank-and-file SJCVC members include former servicemembers like my dad, expert marksmen and combat veterans experienced with ballistics.
Their experience is something shared only by combat veterans who have shot and been shot by foes in America's many foreign wars.
Did any rank-and-file SJCVC members who were combat veterans ever evaluate SHOAR's "upside-down-gun theory" in connection with his "guns-recoil forward theory," both rejected by forensic science? Did SHOAR ever explain his paranoid rantings to the veterans? Or did Lt. Col. Wm. Dudley, USAF (Ret.) get the hierarchy to endorse SHOAR in a secret meeting?
Did SJCVC consider other candidates? Or is it just a cat's paw for the St. Johns County Republican Party and DAVID SHOAR's henchmen, like JERRY CAMERON?
My parents taught me critical thinking skills. My father went ballistic at the Warren Commission report on the JFK Assassination,
That's how God made me.
IF the Executive Council of the St. Johns County Veterans Council had learned critical thinking skills from my father about ballistics and government coverups of homicides, they might have asked questions, demanded answers and expected democracy.
Maybe they would have honored an honorable veteran, and not Sheriff SHOAR.
SJCVC's rush to judgment to honor SHOAR deserves scrutiny from every thinking veteran in St. Johns County. A veterans group should not be a bullet in the gun of a tyrant trying to cadge out undeserved accolades at every opportunity. Elsewhere, veterans don't cower to power or endorse corrupt Tinpot Napoleons. Here in God's country, someone needs their conscience raised today. Go for it! Remember, as JFK said, "here on Earth God's work must truly be our own."

Sheriff Shoar recognized for service to veterans
The St. Johns County Veteran’s Council awarded Sheriff David B. Shoar this year’s Col. Ed Taylor Award.
Shoar was nominated and unanimously approved by the council’s executive committee because of the tremendous impact he has made in supporting veterans.
The award, named for one of the most distinguished war veterans from St. Augustine — Col. Ed Taylor, was established in 2008 to recognize individuals who are considered true champions in supporting veterans.
Taylor, who passed away two years ago at the age of 84, served as a U.S. Army officer for 30 years and was the recipient of three Silver Star medals, three Distinguished Flying Cross medals, four Bronze Star medals with “V” for valor, the Purple Heart and many others.
Taylor also served as chairman for the Veteran’s Council of St. Johns County.
Current chairman Bill Dudley presented Shoar with the prestigious award April 27 during the regular meeting of the Veteran’s Council.
During the presentation, Shoar was praised for his support of veterans, to include financial contributions that have made many projects possible.
“As a 24-year veteran who served during both peace and wartime, I know how important this council and its efforts are to those who have served this great nation,” Shoar said. “I am truly honored to be presented this award and for the opportunity to support the efforts of this organization and those it serves.”

The Mepublican phonies like DAVID BERNARD SHOAR have made playing the 'veteran card', in all of its iterations, one of the most valuable in their deck of deceptions.
It is now a very slick and devious formula process;
• First, through control of corporate baloneywood media, they imbue future cannon fodder as children with an overzealous sense of warped patriotism by subjecting them in their formative years to menticide monster Baloneywood trash war movies and TV programming (a pox on war profiteers Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Brad Pit and their ilk). Media that instills in them a hate for those "others" who might oppose the now phony righteousness of America at home or abroad. The process teaches these young children to set themselves above others and to hate others.
• Second; through intentionally imposed austerity; promises of citizenship for non citizens; and as a release/pardon from criminal behavior; they provide them with the twisted immoral incentives to join the military. Can't find a job? No problem! Hijacked Uncle Sammy will take you!
•Third, they are lied into immoral and illegal wars that kills and maims hundreds of thousands of these misinformed citizens, not to mention the millions that they kill and displace as refugees all across the planet in this heinous process which in its essence really serves to fill the wallets of the scum bag gangster xtrevilist Mepublicans who profit by it all.
