On October 26, 2020, Flagler College President JOSEPH JOYNER gave his deposition in a discrimination and retaliation case brought by fired former Professor Dr. Tina Jaeckle, Jaeckle v. Flagler College, Inc.
On October 29, 2020, JOYNER appeared before the Flagler College Board of Trustees and resigned effective 2021.
On November 2, 2020, Flagler College announced the resignation, alleging "personal reasons."
Earlier this year, Chancellor WILLIAM LEE PROCTOR abruptly retired, with no announcement or ceremony.
