Last night, several rude Commissioners pushed back when Mayor Nancy Shaver asked for an audit of 450th spending. Watch the Commissioners comments sections of the March 9, 2015 City Commission meeting.
One of them is a lawyer.
One of them is a CPA.
Have both of them breached the applicable standard of care of their respective professions by not wanting to know how public funds are spent and whether contracts have been breached or poorly written?
We, The People and Mayor Nancy Shaver wear their scorn as a badge of honor.
If it takes a court order, a recall election, or disciplinary complaints, concerns about 450th dishonesty will be investigated.
No more histrionics and obstructions of justice.
It's our money.
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
