Get out the Vote – Rally and Barbecue

Republican Club of Greater St. Augustine Secretary Pat Greenfield, invited Historic City News Republican readers to attend a special joint meeting with St. Johns County Young Republicans and the Federated Women’s Republican Club.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 9th, which is the first day of Early Voting.

Members and guests of all three groups will meet at the Special Events Center of the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St. Augustine, located at 4730 Casa Cola Way.

This will be a “Get out the Vote – Rally and Barbecue” with Congressman John Mica as the Guest Speaker. “All registered Republicans are welcome,” Club President Gary Bruce to Historic City News. “Come and bring your family, your friends, and your neighbors.”

Everyone is encouraged to wear red, white and blue; if possible.

Set up for the social begins at 5:00 p.m. and volunteer help is needed.

The menu features ribs and chicken, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans and brownies as well as burgers or hot dogs available on request. Food will be served from 6:00 p.m. until 7:15 p.m., “or until we run out,” Bruce quipped. “Come early and get some great barbecue — or, come late and get a warm smile and friendly handshake.”

A brief business meeting will convene at 7:30 p.m.; followed by the guest speaker and concluding at 8:00 p.m.

“Come socialize, bring a guest and get involved in your local politics,” Greenfield said.

Club Treasurer Cheryl Howell announced that club dues can be paid by check mailed to, P. O. Box 860053, St. Augustine, FL 32086-0053. “Please be sure to include your name, mailing address, and e-mail address,” Howell asked.

“Dues paid from March 2010, and forward, will pay through June, 2011,” Howell said. “For individual members, dues are $20 and for a family, $30 per year.”
