David/Jenny,

We are requesting that the applications for the Cordova Inn PUD that are scheduled for the April 7 meeting before the PZB and the April 16 meeting before the HARB be continued until the May 5 meeting before the PZB and the May 21 meeting before the HARB. At the neighborhood meeting we recently held, concerns were raised regarding drainage and we did not have a topographic map available, as required by City Code. I have recently learned that a topographic survey should be available in approximately 1 week and the grading plan will likely be available the week of April 13. I hope that the grading plan will alleviate some of the concerns of those that expressed concerns about drainage and provide a plan that the public can comment on. Please let me know if you need additional information for the requests for continuance to be considered by the Boards.

We are not requesting that the application for demolition, relating to the Carpenter House, that is scheduled before the HARB on April 16 be continued. We would like to move forward with the application for demolition of the Carpenter House on April 16, 2015. I realize that the last time the Carpenter House was considered for demolition there was a desire of some to have the demolition considered in conjunction with the application for the PUD. However, procedurally, the jurisdiction for demolition lies with the HARB and the City Code requires that the PZB consider the PUD before the HARB. Without approval of the demolition by the HARB, the PZB will be put into a position of having to consider and make recommendation on the PUD and not having jurisdiction over the demolition of the Carpenter House.

Please let me know if I can provide additional information for our requested actions.

Mark
