The great American Muckraker Lincoln Steffens wrote a book, "The Shame of the Cities," about municipal corruption. While one of our former St. Augustine Ciry Attorneys told me that he had never heard of Lincoln Steffens, Mr. Steffens would have recognized familiar features in the City of St. Augustine.
