WIKIPEDIA reports, "On July 16, 2026, Gabbard's brother Bhakti whom had been previously been diagnosed with bipolar disorder was arrested for theft in Hawaii. On July 17, 2026, he was arrested and charged for second-degree custodial interference after the Honolulu Police Department investigated reports of a 55 year old male who reportedly offered multiple children gum and money to accompany them to his hotel room at a Waikiki Hotel Pool. Gabbard's father described the incidents stemming from a mental health episode and claimed that his erratic behavior was the "result of smoking pot."[486][487][488]
