Spoliation of Evidence 103

On May 13, 2013, developer lawyer GEORGE MORRIS McCLURE apologized to the City Commission of our City of St. Augustine for lying.
It was the first time this dodgy developer lawyer ever apologized in a public forum for lying.
I turned to a friend at the meeting and said, "He must be sick."  Indeed he was -- it turns out that his Facebook page revealed that, ten days earlier, he was diagnosed with cancer.
GEORGE MORRIS McCLURE died last year.
Now, the City tells me that the videotape of McCLURE apologizing is "corrupted," and cannot be viewed.  It is supplying an audio tape.  Pure poetry.
Developers in St. Augustine and St. Johns County "corrupted" everything they touched since circa 1998.
The developers and corrupters no longer automatically win when they demand to tear down historic buildings and destroy our wetlands and trees.   We, the People, are being treated with respect by our City.  We are winning victories.
I do miss GEORGE McCLURE, who was one of the most spellbinding lawyers I've seen anywhere.
I don't miss his tactics, or what they produced.  When you look around St. Johns County and St. Augustine, almost every ugly project is the sequelae of his skills and his clients' shills.
About a year before he died, I talked with him about the St. Augustine National Historical Park and National Seashore, which will be the biggest land deal in the history of St. Augustine and St. Johns County.  I reckon that he would have supported it, had he survived.  Yes we can! www.staugustgreen.com
