Vacancy Announced, Vacant Stare Required?

Commissioner Cindi Stevenson is likely going to Tallahassee as our new State Representative, has resigned her seat on the St. Johns County Commission.

Under Florida's Constitution, rebarbative Republican Governor RICHARD LYNN SCOTT -- not the people -- gets to hand-pick her successor.

If you'd like the gig, which pays some $70,000 annually, plus benefits, you probably must:
A. Suck up to St. Johns County political bosses, led by reprobate Republican Sheriff DAVID BERNARD SHOAR, who is still covering up the September 2, 2010 shooting of Michelle O'Connell in the home of Deputy JEREMY BANKS.
B. Kiss up to Governor SCOTT, who is facing a Sunshine lawsuit over his illegal firing of FDLE Director Gerald Bailey.
C. Be owned by secretive foreign-funded developers (who are busily clear-cutting beautiful St. Johns ounty into an unreasonable facsimile of South Florida).
D. Be a known dull Republican. (No Democrats have served on St. Johns County Commission in the 21st century, thanks in part to our inept, St. Johns County Democratic Party, which has a permanent headquarters, but decrepit leadership).
E. Reside in the Northwest part of St. Johns County, where many residents move as "white flight" from Jacksonville.

A vacant stare and willingness to worship St. Johns County Administrator MICHAEL DAVID WANCHICK, SHOAR's crony, is desirable.

So far, applications have been received from: James Johns, Kim Kendall, Brian Iannucci, John Capra, David Rice and Andrew DeCandis.
