Congratulations to MPG President Derek May

Former St. Augustine Record Publisher Derek May (2006-2009), is now President of Morris Publishing Group, LLC, a subsidiary of the parent company, Morris Communications.

Congratulations!

May he bring wisdom and experience to the newspaper chain, ending the decadent prejudice that has afflicted Morris Communications, which once owned the Oak Ridger in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, which was little more than a press release for the U.S. Department of Energy and its crooked contractors, which polluted the environment and poisoned workers with seeming impunity and immunity, like Republican Lords of All They Survey.

My favorite example of The St. Augustine Record's reign of ruin: the day after the 2008 Presidential election, The St. Augustine Record's April 13, 2016 news story on the election of our first African-American President, Barack Obama, was on page 5.

Page 5.  Only newspaper anywhere in the USA not to make it page one, above the fold.

Wonder why?

In contrast, Mr. May's election as President of Morris Publishing Group, LLC was on page 1.

Page 1 (albeit below the fold).
