Dear Colleagues,
There is less than [two weeks before] the elections.
I have been raising on these essays about a number of issues that I consider to be of utmost importance for us to elect Hillary Clinton for president.
We just saw what happened in Kansas when pro-Trump people were involved in an attempt to create chaos, and start a civil war. I am sure that this won't be the last of these occurrences we are going to hear. What's at stake in this election is very clear to the right-wing.
Imagine Donald Trump as president being able to dictate how the country will run. Many of my friends expect the country to continue in its pattern of constitutional law that protects the rights of citizens. They talk about Jill getting 5% of the vote, and so on. Dream on. Those that believe we will be just back in normal times just with a crazy dude with his finger on the button are not understanding the essence of the Trump campaign. We are fighting a Neo-Nazi.
I understand that Hillary is not the Queen of Peace either. Many of her supporters don't understand what a no-fly zone means. Many of her supporters fail to understand that if a no-fly zone is applied we might be starting World War III. And it won't be Russia alone that we will be fighting.
Going back to the domestic importance of electing Hillary another issue that needs to be understood in its magnitude is what will happen with the Supreme Court. We need to understand that fascism will gladly enter into power through the front door, as it happened in Germany. Again imagine what a Supreme Court in Republicans hands will do to our people. Imagine what that will do to affirmative action, voting rights, the power of labor unions, the Affordable Care Act, immigration policies, abortion rights, Gay marriage, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, etc. Think of the worst it could be, because that's exactly what will be.
Fear-mongering no, just reality.
Tomorrow, I will be doing canvassing to get Hillary elected, and hopefully to get some good Democrats elected to. I am 69 years old. If I can do it much younger people should also be capable of doing it. Early voting starts … October 24th from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, please make sure everybody you know that supports Hillary go to vote.
Act as if your life depends on the outcome of this election because for most of us it does.
