Richard Ernest Burnham

Loving husband, brother, father and grandfather passed away June 18, 2026 after a brief illness. Richard came to St Augustine 50 years ago from Bangor, Maine. He considered himself a Floridian. He traded shoveling snow for shoveling sand. He built swimming pools in St Augustine and northeast Florida for 50 years. He met his wife Catherine when he was called to repair her swimming pool.
Richard was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. If you knew him, you laughed with him.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Ernest Joseph Brandhorst and his beloved dog Buckwheat. He is survived by his wife Catherine, son William Brandhorst (Danielle) and granddaughters Kira Lynn and Rhea Leigh, and sisters Trudy McGuire, Lisa Daggett, and Connie Thibodeau.
