Mayor BOLES, tear up this lease -- it is a stench in the nostrils of the citizenry.

The facts on the lease of 81 St. George Street are irrefragable. Mayor JOSEPH LESTER BOLES, JR. and ex-Mayor CLAUDE LEONARD WEEKS, JR. have made $2-3 million over 25 years from the no-bid lease.
The lease was just renewed for another five years.
BOLES and WEEKS must disclose the subleases. They must agree to cancel the lease and let the City make the profits, using them for the 450th. In a quarter of a century, these two Fortunate Sons have already made enough money off this one City of St. Augustine property. Enough flummery, dupery and nincompoopery from BOLES and WEEKS.
For too long, the City of St. Augustine has been like Mayor Richard J. Daley's City of Chicago writ small, where Mike Royko once wrote in "Boss" that they should put a sign over City Hall: UBI EST MEO? (Where's mine?). The days of the City of St. Augustine being run without transparency and democracy are ending. Government service is not supposed to be a cash register for yourself and your friends and relatives. Mayor BOLES, tear up this lease -- it is a stench in the nostrils of the citizenry.
