Pope Francis confirms visit to Philadelphia, St. Augustine working to bring him here for 450th anniversary of first Catholic Mass in USA

Yes we can!
We hope Pope Francis will visit us here next year and will help promote healing, Environmental Justice, environmental protection and speak to racial issues, including discrimination against African-Americans and genocide toward Native Americans. America began here, for both good and evil, as St. Augustine Cathedral Basilica pastor Fr. Thomas Willia told our City Commission on March 11th. Columnist Leonard Pitts, Jr. said at Flagler College March 23rd that if the Pope spoke here about race, he'd become a Roman Catholic.
The Pope will soon issue an encyclical on environmental protection. We look forward to welcoming him here, perhaps dedicating a statute of St. Francis adjoining our seashore, near what will soon be the St. Augustine National Historical Park and National Seashore. www.staugustgreen.com
