We must restore respect for the rule of law in our governments. Every single one.
We must not suffer or permit Board members running interference for staff mistakes and flummery.,
We have a right to our government documents.
I requested specific categories of AMCD records in May and June of 2024.
Still waiting.' Why?
Diffident, indifferent and hostile response from staff and Board.
36% cost overruns on the mosquito museum educational center. 36%
Same auditor makes the same old mistakes for twelve years.
Board members cluck cluck every meeting, praising the staff and never criticizing it.
Staff talking disrespectfully to Commissioners.
What's going on here?
Our District Director, Business Manager and CFO must be held accountable. They need to retire.
It's time for them too go,
A spirit is stalking this Board and this country -- a spirit of desuetude, sloth and torpor,
We the people watched in horror as AMCD illegally've spent our tax money for years on illegal bonuses and then insulted us for asking about them. One former Board member, Ms. Catherine Brandhorst, actually wrote and asked me if I didn't have anything better to do. She demanded bonuses while missing dozens of meetings. The AMCD Board asked Governor DeSantis to remove her. Governor DeSantis. never responded.
When I wrote about AMCD's lawbreaking and violations of our landmark Florida Open Records laws, Ms. Trish Becker, current Chair wrote me, "Rome wasn't built in a day," As my mom would say, "How trite." We have a right to examine the proceedings of AMCD, in the words of Article I, Section 19 of the Tennessee Constitution, which Thomas Jefferson inspired.
We, the People have higher expectations than bureaucratic flummery. Y'all work for us. As Rick Scott would say, "let's get to work."
In 1983, I won declassification of the largest mercury pollution event in the history of this frail planet. It took 182 days for the U.S. Department of Energy to provide documents, an undue delay. It's taken AMCD even longer not to respond to any of my records requests.
On January 14, 2025, I asked AMCD to agree to mediation by attorney Ms. Pat Riste Gleason, a 40+ year veteran of our the State Attorney General's office, Florida's Special Counsel for Open Government.
No response.
To be continued.,,,,

If you need pills, the VA is there. If you're experiencing an immediately life threatening condition, the VA is there (well not for the guy who went to the Gainesville VA emergency room and they let him die because they couldn't find his ID), but everything else is a coin flip. It's a lawless, incompetent, and malfeasant organization. Still no justice thanks to the derelict courts.
