In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Paid off: Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown completes restitution for federal tax conviction (Steve Patterson, Jacksonville Times-Union, March 25, 2025)
Disgraced ex-Rep. CORRINE BROWN as a disgrace to our State and Nation. How long did she fail to honor her oath? How many other Florida elected officials don't give a fig about the people? You tell me.
From Jacksonville Florida Times-Union:
Paid off: Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown completes restitution for federal tax conviction
Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown has satisfied the restitution order related to her 2022 guilty plea on a tax charge.
Brown's initial conviction on fraud and tax charges was overturned in 2021 and she took a plea bargain and avoided a new trial.
Although initially ordered to pay over $500,000 in restitution, Brown's final payment amounted to about $62,650.
Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown has paid her debt to society. There’s a receipt to prove it.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office has released a lien for money the 12-term Democratic member of Congress from Jacksonville was ordered to pay after her 2017 conviction on fraud and tax charges.
A notice announcing that release was filed March 19 in the Duval County Courthouse.
