ANNALS OF DeSANTISTAN: With migrants fleeing, Florida seeks child labor (Scott Maxwell column, Orlando Sentinel, March 28, 2025)

During the last century, some American child labor victims, like my Father, became union organizers while they were child labor victims. That's one reason why some WWII soldiers, like my father, stood up for their rights. My dad was blacklisted by the Pennsylvania Association of Manufactures for being a union organizer. Dad had to change his name at the advice of the plant manger who fired him. (Dad proudly picketed the Philadelphia textile sweatshop where his own mother worked. (He proudly recalled that my grandmother's co-worker called out, "Frances, it's your son out there!" We, the People have stood up to anti-labor oppression for 250 years. We will get through this, my friends. Never forget -- there are more of us than there are of them.

The South Jersey Chapter of the 82nd naan DIVN ASSN is named for my father, the "CPL Edward A. Slavin Chapter." My dad taught me, as JFK's dad taught him, that you have to stand up to people with power or else they walk all over you.

Prediction: some of today's exploited Florida child labor victims will become tomorrow's labor leaders.

Feculent Florida Boy Governor RONALD DION DeSANTIS and other labor- baiters will reap the whirlwind. "Ideas have consequences" in the words of the my Political Theory Professor, the late Jose Sorzano, President Reagan's Deputy United Nations Ambassador under his Georgetown colleague, Reagan's UN Ambassador Jeanne Kirkpatrick.

My dad did not get to attend high school until after his service in the 82nd Airborne. He and other veterans got GI Bill benefits, with a special high school in Philadelphia and other places for the veterans who were exploited as children. Of course, our former St. Johns County Congress-critter, DeSANTIS, has not thought this through. These other-directed devious Dull Republicans don't think things through. They're too busy dining at the Governor's Club in Tallahassee and taking campaign contributions and orders from labor-baiters. Some of these Me-Publicans take orders from the likes of Florida Associated Industries and other Social Darwinists. They resemble rigid rough beasts, who appear bought and paid for, and who know not that they know not that they know not. Scott Maxwell: With migrants fleeing, Florida seeks child labor

"Let kids be kids" is something Gov. Ron DeSantis said when he enacted laws banning kids from seeing drag shows or discussing certain topics in school that he considered too adult. DeSantis is also now working to roll back the state's child labor laws so employers can have them on job sites after 11 pm and before 6:30 am on school days. (Facebook: Governor Ron DeSantis)

So long as the workers are white, conservatives don't care what age someone is. They don't even care about their phoney baloney religious beliefs. It's white first, everything else second, third, fourth etc.
