Sen. Murkowski: 'I Am Sick To My Stomach' After Trump's Treatment Of Zelenskyy Sebastian Murdock, Huffington Post, March 1, 2025)

Fondly remember when Senator James Jeffortds (R-VT) changed parties to Democratic amidst the George W. Bush presidency?  Several current Republican Senators might wish to follow his example.

From Huffington Post:

Sen. Murkowski: 'I Am Sick To My Stomach' After Trump's Treatment Of Zelenskyy

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) said Saturday that she is "sick to my stomach" after President Donald Trump's treatment of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday.

“This week started with administration officials refusing to acknowledge that Russia started the war in Ukraine,” Murkowski said in a post on X. “It ends with a tense, shocking conversation in the Oval Office and whispers from the White House that they may try to end all U.S. support for Ukraine.”

Murkowski was referring to a tense meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy at the Oval Office on Friday in which Trump berated the world leader in his third year of fighting off a Russian invasion.

“You’re not in a good position,” Trump told him at the meeting. “You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards.”

“I’m not playing cards,” Zelenskyy replied. “I’m very serious, Mr. President. I’m very serious.”

In her Saturday post, Murkowski said Trump "appears to be walking away from our allies."

“I know foreign policy is not for the faint of heart," Murkowski said. "I am sick to my stomach as the administration appears to be walking away from our allies and embracing Putin, a threat to democracy and U.S. values around the world."

Putin, an autocrat who oversees a kleptocracy, attacked a democratic nation because he does want them to join a military alliance between democratic nations. "World War Three" will be the fault of Russia if that happens... not the USA and Ukraine. Trump is just allowing Russia to bully democratic nations by giving them their way to stop something that Russia started to begin with. NATO has no intention on invading Russia. It's up to Russian people to get rid of its authoritarian system.
