Ex-Senator, developer, TRAVIS JAMES HUTSON and his family business just bought 1088 acres in Jacksonville.  In the words of the musical, Fiddler on the Roof, "May the Lord bless and keep the Czar, far away from us!"

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A residential developer bought more than 1,000 acres last week near the Jacksonville International Airport, according to News4JAX partners at the Jacksonville Daily Record.

On Dec. 1, the Hutson Cos. of St. Augustine bought the property on Lem Turner Road, between Terrell and Braddock roads, for $29.48 million.

The developer is behind the Northeast Florida residential communities SilverLeaf, OakLeaf Plantation and Johns Creek, according to the JDR.

In 2022, the Jacksonville City Council approved rezoning the property for a maximum of 2,300 residential units and 125,000 square feet of commercial uses. The project was called Thomas Creek.
