Faced With Monday Conference Call on My Age Discrimination and Retaliation Case, UF Violates Privacy Rights by E-mailing 15.7 MB of Private Letters of Recommendation to Two Dozen People

University of Florida Assistant Vice President just sent 15.7 MB of private letters of recommendation by E-mail to some two dozen people. I had requested that data on age of applicants and graduates and my file be sent to me and to U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights in relation to my age, disability and retaliation complaint re: my application to Environmental and Land Use Planning Law (ELUPL) program. Forgive them. I want to be a Gator and I would appreciate your suggestions!

Dear Janine:
1. Thank you.
2. Still waiting on statistics on age of applicants, admittees and graduates.
3. By the way, do you realize to how many people you just Emailed my 49 letters of recommendation?
4. While I appreciate UF finally complying, after four years, with the Open Records law, my request was to provide my file to OCR and to me. I had initially sought statistics on age, which still have not been provided.
5. The release of this much personal information (15.7 MB) by E-mail to two dozen people is troubling under educational privacy laws.
6. However, it is far more troubling that UF continues to "stand in the schoolhouse door" after four (4) years and five (5) applications, and more than $150 in fees, after receiving so many letters of recommendation and writing samples. As a sign of good faith, I request a full refund of those fees to my debit card tomorrow.
7. UF has no legal, equitable or moral defenses to blocking my admission for another day.
8. Let the healing begin. I want to be a Gator and I would appreciate your help.
9. Thus, I look forward to meeting with you, Dean Machen, Dean Jerry and Dean Flournoy and U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR) attorneys to discuss the details of my admission to the Environmental and Land Use Planning Law (ELUPL) program at the Levin College of Law of the University of Florida.
10. I look forward to hearing from UF tomorrow morning about the age data, in preparation for my conference call with two OCR attorneys on Monday.
Thank you.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Ed
