County Refused Proclamations on Equal Pay, School Choice and Worker Memorial Day!

In paragraph 9 of his affidavit filed in federal court last week, St. Johns County's recently demoted Public Affairs Director MICHAEL RYAN states that SJC BoCC Chairs turned down resolutions on Equal Pay School Choice and Worker Memorial Day.  No basis is stated.  This is not a defense to anti-LGBTQIA+ bigotry.

The County's feckless federal court filings admit sub silencio that this a standardless delegation to the County Commission Chairman to make an unappealable undocumented decision on proclamations.

The imperious St. Johns County Commission Chair unilaterally decides on proclamations, without records, recourse or transparency. This is "delegation running riot," in the words of Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Cardozo, in A.L.A. Schecter Poultry v. United States, 295 U.S. 495, 553 (1935)(Cardozo, J., concurring)(National Industrial Recovery Act "Sick Chicken Case").
